Everyone should know what the severance package looks like for their grade level and years of service, as published in Sparq. For non-managers, you may be surprised by how few weeks are paid out. The severance package is unlikely to carry you until you find a new job. Use your floating holiday early in the year before using any PTO.

@am Great advice!
PTO can go negative by up to one week and only one week gets paid out in severance… SO my plan is to stay at zero or even negative for PTO this year.
@a1 I have been hinting as loud as I can for my team to be resume ready!
The time to apply for external jobs was yesterday — not after you are RIFed. It can take months to find a job in this economy. Some people may land a role within a month, but many will find it takes six months or longer. Even if you’re not ready to leave on your own, get your résumé out and apply to a couple of jobs each month. The worst-case scenario is that you build your network of recruiters and gain valuable feedback on your skills.
If you're managing your career based on severance you're losing in the game of life
Looks like levels 28 and below really get sc--wed. So unfortunate people are dedicating their lives for the success of Optum and Optum keeps sh!tting on them.
Chat are we cooked?
I give my team the hint about floating holidays every year as they are not paid out. Nor is any PTO over 40 hours, depending where you live.
