3 vs 4 API

What’s the percent different between a 3 and a 4 for API payout?

the merit guidelines take performance and percent in range into account. A rated 4 with around 50%, but slightly under in range will have an allowable 0-5.5% and 110-120% API

None. Your manager can give you a 4 and still give you less merit and bonus than someone who got a 3. People that complain about a 3 have no clue how the system works. They’ll give you the 4 so you stop complaining but correct it on the flip side by still giving you 3 money, or if they’re really annoyed, less than the other 3. So much is based on the salary you get. If someone that gets a 3 makes more than the person getting a 4, then 5% to the 4 is still less than 3% to the 3.

Can't say how it is for leadership level and above. But for the rest of us, from my experience the actual difference between a 3 and a 4 translates to an extra couple hundred dollars on the API and maybe an extra .5% on the merit raise. All can vary a bit based on your divisional goals.

@a2

Regardless, you asked for the percent "different", not "difference."

So no matter how much you try to save face by dubiously splitting hairs with the percent vs. percentage argument, you still got it stone cold WRONG by using the word, "different" instead of "difference."

Let me guess: you're Asian

@a1 you’re actually wrong. You use “percent” when you refer to a specific number. You use “percentage” when describing something general. I asked for the percent difference in actual numbers, if I was asking for percentage, I’d be asking if it’s small or large.
