Hey folks. Today is a sad day for the employees who are leaving the greatest company in America. I wish you all the best, and I am sure it would be difficult to find another company as employee centric as ATT. Please continue to use ATT products and services as we need OUR stock to be in the high 80's (minimum). Love ya'll.

@he lol. Here's why:
My T-Mobile family plan is cheaper than my employee discounted rate.
My neighborhood offers spectrum and Google fiber. Att offers me 20mb for $60 a month. Sorry, that's pretty pathetic and insulting.
I'm still bitter that I lost my uverse for direct TV and HBO max fiasco. I finally got that stupid dish off my roof.
Because we don't make products. We implement stuff. Our 'products' are mostly management portals and operations tools for our offshore support and sales teams.
I honestly don't know how what we produce anymore. What are we? Overpriced Fiber and phones?
So, yeah. I'll take att's money and collect my dividends but that doesn't mean I owe them an iota of support. I buy on price and support. Att fails on both.
I wish I was one of them! These id10ts won't off me ESB!
Why do ATT employees hate our products and services so much that we decide to work here? If you don't like our products and services, just quit your position and move on. No need to nag and have a sales pitch with your family, relatives, and friends to cut all ATT services. I want to retire from ATT since it is the best company in America. Peace
@be Dumped all services from T almost 3 years ago and encouraged friends and family to do the same. My spin on the plan of the same name. My advice to them, and all customers: Find the best service for the best price with a non-woke provider who values America and her workers, and does not tout a fake guarantee.
@d3 - and what do you base this on? I’m guessing I know where you pulled this from. You still a bit sore?
@ew "Employees often get pigeonholed in set roles and never move to new jobs or assignments."
Yep -- If you do a job too well you will never be allowed to change jobs within ATT. The old saying was often true -- you had to really f-kup to get promoted.
"23 years in any company’s says you have stayed long past your expiration date. 5-10 years max and you’re just doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result."
This isn't true at all companies but does apply to employment at AT&T in many cases. Movement to different departments and orgs is difficult and rare. Employees often get pigeonholed in set roles and never move to new jobs or assignments. Unless proactive to gain current skills, many longterm employees decay in place.
Releasing more "ringers" from the payroll.
@OP At first I thought you were talking about Spencer Gifts til you said ATT.
@cq 23 years in any company’s says you have stayed long past your expiration date. 5-10 years max and you’re just doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result.
Insane.
“My 23+ years colleagues were very upset.”
Freeloaders upset the gravy train is over.
@cq it’s a job that they have long since been effective at. Time to sunset.
It was sure a sad day for everyone. My 23+ years colleagues were very upset. Plano, Dallas, Northpark, Lennox, Bothell, Bedminster, and Middletown were all impacted.
I guess this wave is over and now waiting for the next wave, a big wave.
I call it LiBERATION DAY.
They should be congratulating you for telling the truth
I won't miss the cost of my employee discounted services creeping upwards EVERY SINGLE MONTH
Better you, than me. See ya!
Day 1. Exit Checklist: DUMP any and ALL at&t products/ services, then strongly urge all friends and family members to do the same !
“ I have a director who marches straight to a room for the whole day to do make personal calls. Speaks to me rarely only for her personal issues nothing work related , delegates all her work to the AD.”
Very few of them do any real work. They love kicking any heavy lifting down the ladder to their subordinates. Like the superfluous four layers of “VPs” above them, they are mere fiefdom lords & gatekeepers. That’s a guaranteed fact!
I have a director who marches straight to a room for the whole day to do make personal calls. Speaks to me rarely only for her personal issues nothing work related , delegates all her work to the AD. Easy life and an easy salary to go with it !
“I can tell you the best thing that has happened to me in the past decade was getting my notice! I didn’t realize how bad it was at T until I left.”
And yet you can’t seem to let go after a decade.
For those departing today, it’s not a sad day! It’s a day to celebrate. They get to celebrate getting out of the toxic sludge pit!!
I can tell you the best thing that has happened to me in the past decade was getting my notice! I didn’t realize how bad it was at T until I left. Now I work for a company that truly care about the employees. A company where the stock price YTD has gone up more than twice what T is trading at.
There is life outside that shithole that Stankey has created! A MUCH better life!
@am I so agree with you. When I started in 2000 it was such a great company to be in. Everything was exciting and I could see the difference I made. When I had to leave due to RTO at the end of September I hated our upper Mgt. Stankey is a f* and is a horrible leader.
867/900 would disagree with your greatest company to work for thoughts. Though I’m sure where you work it’s great. Seems the techs enjoy it, it’s obvious the trolls on here are techs given the comments and references, office people don’t get OT. For the rest of us this place went from great to abysmal. It was fantastic when I started, but that was a long time ago.
There is no layoff today at NVIDIA, but nice try. There is a layoff at the 867th out of the top 900 companies to work for. I suspect that is considered a blessing to all affected.
Overtime is approved today if still needing to complete turnover documentation.
I think everyone has an idea of the greatest company in America. I feel that I am there, but its a national defense company.
Only worked from 7-noon daily so I could get things done around the house. Save a lot of money on childcare .
I had weekly golf games on Wednesday afternoons. I will miss getting paid for this time.
@a1 keep doing this until you die love it!!!
