Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Gold/diamond employee pins

I’m an ex-employee with several gold anniversary pins with diamonds in them. Anyone know whether these have any value, even if to a jeweler who’d melt them down? I have no use for them and would love to at least get enough money out of them for a nice bottle of champagne.

This post is indeed relevant to a layoff board. Those who’ve left the firm, voluntarily or involuntarily, may not have any use for these pins. Moreover, Edward Jones is, for good reason, infamous in the industry for its below-market home office compensation. Displaced individuals may previously have had challenges accumulating an emergency fund, and be interested in selling these pins to pick up a bit of money to help their budgets.

I took great pleasure in throwing mine in the garbage.

@jj Spoken by the Troll of Trolls. Seems like you should have far more time on your hands than you do. On the off chance you are truly a Jones associate spared, then you may be an even bigger piece of sh-t than you have already demonstrated yourself to be

@jj .... did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? If you're a leader, your tone is horrific towards this platform.

How would you know who works on here or not? How do you know if a member of your team is faking their "energy" fearful they may still lose a job?

@ht all I see on these boards are a bunch of whiny keyboard warriors. Someone has to troll the trolls. Everyone on here complaining like jones is a family run non-profit. Just here to remind everyone. Clearly very few people on these chats work there, my new team is energized, maybe a little confused but excited to go forward.

Also, the pin question is stupid, it’s gold and cheap diamonds. Go to a pawn shop… Why would you come to a layoff message board to ask that question except to troll.

@gw+1k5frcy7n Calm down, keyboard warrior. I have no idea who those people are. There are many, many people who’ve moved on to greener pastures and still have these pins. —OP

@OP - if you’re in St. Louis then you’ll get $43-46 per pin. Go to Scotsman Jeweler's off Olive Rd.

They are 10k gold, and with gold prices at record highs you should get a decent amount scrapping them.

To clarify, I left Jones several years ago and these are gathering dust on a shelf. Keeping you all in my thoughts. I’ve hired three of you to my current firm so far and will be on the prowl for more when I can…. :-)
