Skip-level meeting

One of my teammates has a skip-level meeting for later today. I thought people were being notified by their direct managers, is this wrong? Could his meeting be something else?

That's exactly how I got it. What a tactic. I thought it was just another boring meeting about managers shifting responsibilities again, I almost didn't attend. But after realizing I was the only one in the room with guy two levels higher up and there should be at least 60+ people present, I knew it wasn't going to end well.

@ad, all the best on your retirement. I am 66 and still working - no longer at Oracle - but knowing that I am set for retirement and eligible for Medicare when the ax falls makes it much easier.

Follow up to previous post re 12:30 meeting. Yup, it's a big one. Multiple unlisted attendees and VP of OCI specialist team hosting. Everyone on call is done as of right now. Send personal email to VP, details of separation to be sent to that address by end of day and company laptop to be locked shortly after call. Said that due to large number affected its logistically impossible to do it individually so it's big but no indication of how many. VP voice shake and sounded like about to cry, FWIW.

Decline the meeting and go on a sick leave 🙌 This is ridiculous and tragic how they treat employees. 🤯

Decline the meeting, reason: No agenda provided.

Or propose a new time for next week.

Direct manager speaks to you.

Skip-level means, the manager is on the list as well.
