Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

To Post ID: @Oevr+14UJsi0x, well you were right about MMS getting hit. I don't think Claims got any RIF's in this round.

I work in MMS and I haven't heard of any upcoming RIF's but I do feel like they are on the horizon.

I heard yesterday that MMS and Claims are next group to be hit. I''m not sure when or what areas of Claims or MMS. I just wanted to give a heads up because now it's 2 different people from different offices that have told me this. I am thinking that it will probably be in August or September.

I'm wondering if there were any RIF's in MMS? There was a rumor but I spoke with someone in MMS and they said there have been no RIF's this week.

I have not heard of anyone being fired in MMS. I do know a few years ago an admin and a few others were RIF'd. Also 2 Leaders of MMS and a Manager of MMS were RIF'd. But other than that I don't know of anyone that was RIF'd or let go and I work in MMS. There have been several that have retired and a leader that left for other reasons.

What is the difference between firing and layoff? Severance will not be paid if they were fired?

I know a person was fired, other told to quit or be fired , though I would think it’d be easier just to lay them off

I have seen people targeted and forced out at mms. If management wants you gone they target you with more work than others and telling you that your work is not meeting standards and constant negative feedback

to post Post ID: @ydz+14UJsi0x, I work in MMS too and I have never seen anyone fired. I have seen some jobs eliminated but no one fired. So saying they fire is just fake news. Yes, I too have heard that there will be RIF's coming in MMS. It is in the works. That isn't the only area, there will be other RIF's as well. Bring it on.
