Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Turned into a monster at Honeywell

I recently found a job outside of Honeywell. I can't take the mediocrity and lack of robust processes at my new job. I feel like many people above me should be fired. I feel very angry about low performance and want to bluntly say it to colleagues and even my manager.

Did Honeywell turn me into a monster?

I'm going to guess that those "low performance" people you speak of have been here a bit longer than you and have seen the writing on the wall and have become disenfranchised with the place to just do enough to not get fired. No sense going above and beyond when you will only get an E thanks for your efforts unless you are part of the good ol boy network.

@OP+1u2BUxLo - It’s quite simple really. When the sun comes out, you put the deck chairs out, when it goes down, you bring them back in.

There is a typo in the original post.
Let me fix it.
"I recently found a job at Honeywell. "

Like Honeywell has detailed and robust processes for anything.

Robust processes? Processes exist so that people will require less time to think about what they're doing, and will spend less time asking their boss how to proceed when the workflow is unclear. Maybe the people at your new job are fully trained and competent, and ABLE to think their way through well-reasoned workflows and don't need "robust processes" to keep them from having to think. That is something you may not have experienced at HON. If you are a monster now, you probably always were.

Honeywell will be lucky to be in the Fortune 1000 within 5 years. Mark my words.

as @dif+1u2BUxLo has pointed out, honeywell has been kicked out of the fortune 100 list and into the fortune 500. i wonder why? :)

The only robust process I can remember at Honeywell was that of Furlough and Layoff, pretty much every other process was broken or being changed for the umpteenth time because yet another leadership team was rotated in/merged/demerged/shrunk/MIA in a never ending cycle of bureaucratic he-l. Remember the debacle of Z21 where the Z21 trainers admitted they were making it up as they went along. Awkward.
Damn even the everyday stuff like IT and stationary was a sh1tshow.
I work now in another clunky Fortune 500 corporation but it feels like absolute heaven in comparison, oh yeah our engineers are also ACTUAL engineers. I had almost forgotten how to work with professionals.

Come on HR, you can create a better story than that. Then again, they are having problems attracting quality in that area also. So sad.

@OP+1u2BUxLo it's all relative. if you went from a HON (fortune 500 demoted from fortune 100 lol) to a smaller company (or somewhere lower ranked and is biting itself in terms of best business practices/employee development, then u will feel that way.
did u go from a publicly run to privately run company/family run company? who knows? it's how you make the most of it that ultimately matters.
in case this is an HR bot/tool that is implying how great HON is...no...HON is not.
