When it was bonus/profit share time at STST, 30% from our profit share was taken from us to be held back until the next profit share.Was this a corporate idea and did it happen to Seagate employees worldwide or just at STST?
We never knew if it was given back fully or given back at all.It really should be investigated.

There's nobody running about off their heads like sc-mbags.You are making it out like Seagate is like a sesh house in Creggan.Ive never seen anybody off their heads.I guarantee I'm working in Seagate longer than you are.
@1yrx+1mxzauTO You think Seagate worldwide making employees redundant is the fault of lazy operators in STST.Why do you care if someone sleeps on the toilet,calls in sick or takes longer breaks? Do you pay them? Did you personally employ them? You do your thing and mind your own business.

People like you need to realise that there will be redundancies and employees asking for a payrise won't affect the number of redundancies one bit.If corporate tells STST that they need to make 200 operators redundant ,that will be the number.Asking about wages and bonuses won't make difference.
1yqd+1mxzauTO you are 100% heading for the pip. I've worked in both fans but I go in do my work and go home. Everyone deserves a payrise but at the min I'd rather have my job

You epitomise the term "company person" .You're life revolves around Seagate ,you talk about work when you're not in work and the only mates you have are workmates.If you are happy to get sh-t on by management that's up to you but the rest if us don't have to take it.Do you not think people deserve a pay rise?

They get better holidays and better pensions.We as employees also pay into the health insurance.There is no operator on 30 grand a year.Thats a fu----g lie.Many operator does Seagate put through university in a year?? Seagate pay £11.70 an hour ,a car wash on the buncrana road pays £12.50 an hour.You are a fu----g clown.I'll put money on that you're hanging out of managers arses and a bigger informer than scappaticci.
@1bnl+1mxzauTO. Alot of operators working in Seagate have every opportunity to go back to college get an education get better jobs in there. Tell me somewhere in Derry where ppl with little or no educational qualifications are getting 30k a year. I don't care that we work shift. That's the job you are in. Places pay more per hour because the works harder. Operators run machines only a few are flat out. Workers who get paid more in the town work harder. You get the top up cause of shift. Private health care hopefully u never need that. Full sick pay. Reduced shares better than any saving scheme. Profit share when available. Let's stop pretending your in a high profile job. My wife's a nurse and ur paid more stop the bullsh-t ur under paid. Shifts are hard no joke but ur paid a premium for it. None of the work is hard. End of argument. This sh-t needs to stop. The gates not there to keep anyone in. U want more an hour without shift go get that job. I wouldn't work somewhere I detest.
@1ejv+1mxzauTO You are correct in saying that Seagate have no legal obligation to pay these bonuses but when Seagate advertise for jobs they state that the benefits for working for Seagate are profit share and bonuses.They do it to make it seem a more attractive place to work.Also alot of places in derry pay a better hourly rate than Seagate.
How the fu-k are we getting way more than we are entitled to? Explain that to me.You can't be an operator if that's your attitude to pay.The less you do in STST the more you are paid.Tell me where our 30% deductions have gone.

If you work for Seagate you’re already getting waaay more than you’re ‘entitled’ to.
If you disagree, then honestly you’d be better off leaving and looking for a job elsewhere.
There are lots of hardworking people, that enjoy working here and are genuinely worried about losing what is a great job for the area in which they live.
Also not a company guy/gal, just calling out some of the negative nancys on here.
@OP+1mxzauTO this is what I think ppl don't understand it's not your profit share Seagate can decide to give as little or as large as they want. Seagate is not an non charity and as much as ppl won't like hearing it. It's a business and the higher your position the the higher your payment. Give me one job that's not true. I feel for people struggling but most people in Derry are paid less than Seagate operators full salary. I'm not a company man as some will say reading this but ppls own situation is down to them not the company you work for. Profit share is a bonus decided by your company they are under no legal obligation to give it. Same with the sick bonus. Same with sick pay. Stop whinging about a stupid profit share and worry more about ppl losing their jobs. So entitled.
