Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Has anyone’s leadership been genuinely transparent?

I’m curious what conversations are happening across the company. Have your leaders:

  • Told you they expect your department to be relatively stable?
  • Suggested your area could be significantly impacted?
  • Discussed how workload, business need, or performance may factor into future decisions?
  • Or are you getting little to no information?

It seems like communication varies dramatically depending on the department, and I’m interested in hearing others’ experiences.

@OP No, leadership has not been transparent or even reassured employees. If it is even mentioned it is very vague and skirted around leaving many feeling confused and anxious.

I have an absolutely wonderful PL who genuinely does care, but sadly she's as in the dark as any of us. She seems to think we'll be spared any cuts because of how highly teams in other markets speak of us, but I'm not so optimistic.

We were told that our team probably won't be impacted much because we're a specialty team and no one else knows how to do our duties. We were also told that our roles may shift to different objectives. Why would our roles shift if no one knows how to complete our original duties 🤔 I'm trusting no one at this point and am applying for jobs left and right.

Not my fake a* leader... not one word from them - all smiles - while they move the staff they like to roles they know wont be effected. All these people here are nothing but liars - they smile at your face and then do hidden secret sht behind your back.
Do I want my job? Of course I do! But at this point - at what cost?

my PL was informed they (Senior Leadership) needed to cut 20-25% of my PL's team. this was prior to the VSP. I knew who on my team was highest risk at that time and it was not my PL's decision.

my gut is telling me that our team will be significantly impacted. I believe it will be 50%, he-l the whole team could get cut and I would not even be surprised.

I do not believe each team has the same target to meet, but again... if the business were to cut 20% of the entire workforce, I would not be surprised. I think it'll be 10% to start and then RIFs will continue into 2028.

other than that, my PL is in the dark.
