Seeing how the company has treated our peers that were let go, I can honestly say that I do not care about Verizon and I am at the Director level. Knowing I could be let go at any minute I encourage my teams to be just as indifferent as I am as they could be gone tomorrow too. We are all just here couting our days and cashing our checks while doing the bare minimum until it is our turn. This is the monster Verizon has created which is the vicious cycle that has led to the failure that Verizon is today.

I care about Verizon, it has provided me a decent living for 30+ years, and I’d like to see that continue for all the newer people. But you can’t do it alone.
Advice from a RIFd VZ employee. I have a Masters degree in IT. I have numerous certifications including AI and Cloud. I was a visible employee (was not hiding). I worked way past 8 hrs per day (don't want to say how much because I would look stupid for doing it). I had excellent relationships with my team and my Management. But then a shift happened. We got a new Director and they came in and reduced our team by 10% and I was affected by the RIF. They did not know me very well, so it was easy for them to let me go. So don't think it can't happen to you, update your resume, update your skills, and keep your guard up Vteamer ... good luck.
We clearly see who the delusional fools are in this thread that think just because they bow down to Verizon their jobs will be saved some day. So sad.
Many band 7 and 6 feel this way. The reality is... who cares about Verizon when they dont care about you. Do some work, look busy, and have the resume at the ready. Anyone who still loves this company is delusional at best. Its a means for a paycheck and health benefits... I mean this in the nicest way possible, I hope Verizon goes down the tube. When they let me go, all my phone lines are moving to other competitors.
I call bullsh-t on you being a director
@OP Verizon cant fire you soon enough and you deserve it. hope you and your family end up in a homeless shelter or worse
With the exception of the people who are delusional / lying, everyone is job hunting. And everyone I talk to is just trying to figure out how to stay safe while they are going through interviewing / rejection cycles as coming from Verizon is now a red flag at a lot of companies. But the number of people who disappear on short notice to "run errands" (IOW, do another interview) is just funny.
That, of course, includes me.
