We are stuck with "her" until 2028. The next MP will probably be dopey david or some other insane clown worse than PP. So what is everyone doing to keep their sanity while trying to plan ahead? Are you all trying to just stick it out and hope something changes for the better by 2028? Actively looking for another job in this horrible job market? Or, trying to stay under the radar until retirement? I have a feeling that the LP offer in september is not going to get as many sign ups as they hope. They will then use this as a means to pivot to go public sometime around when PP leaves. All under the guise that we don't have enough buy ins to keep the pyramid err uh "partnership" afloat. 1450 FAs walked away last year, a new EDJ record. That should tell you something.

@f7 , they can offer the LP this fall and folks may or may not take the offering. I think there's a lot of unknowns on the B shares and the firms setting themselves up to go public or a sell.
Theres also not a lot of transparency on the new offering. Jargon being used that alot of folks don't understand. Who wants to read the fine print?
@f7 I think greed and petty ego will win out. They have yet to make a good decision that benefits the employees.
Mega LP offer or people start walking.
@dm I think you are reading the same tea leaves as me. As much as I want a white knight to come in and save us, I think these people are so far off their rockers that they will have destroyed 90% of the company and cashed out before anyone tries to fix it. The LP offer will be a huge metric for most, especially if a lot of people balk at it.
@em Agree. This is not a DEI issue (even I have issues with DEI in general)..This is nothing more than a text book case of classic corporate cronies and their greed coupled with pure arrogance. Plenty of blame to around and trying to stir up fights between men vs women or whites vs minority is a distraction from the root cause and takes our eyes off the ball.
@db saying dei is crazy……you must mean white women? There are virtually no Hispanic or black leaders so can’t be talking about them if dei meant anything but white women the most qualified people would be leading the firm. hint the best person on elt is the black guy
@dd unsure what’s possible under firm partnership rules, but my ideal is to have KG become interim MP while he onboards the top GP candidate from field leadership as next permanent MP. preferably someone with no HO experience
Now through 2027 I foresee:
Those HBA they offered a relocation and were interested, they’ll get it or they’ll be let go if they don’t move.
Those HBA who didn’t get an offer will just be let go.
Those HBA who are outside of the driving limits to headquarters will be told too bad so sad, come in or leave.
Medical HBA accommodations will be re reviewed. Any mental health accommodations will be re done with all in office only, since remote does not have to be an accommodation according to ADA, there are many other in office they can offer. The others medically approved for home will be re evaluated and unless you truly can’t drive yourself to work due to missing four limbs, you’re gonna have to come in too.
By 2028, when Chewbacca becomes head and PP leaves, we will all be in the office five days a week for him, no home/remote anymore. And more offshoring.
It’ll be exactly like CitiBank, where Chewbacca came from.
So I’m gonna hold it out. Only do what I gotta do and see how it plays out. Will it be a NI? PIP? Firing? Don’t care. Just gonna see how long it takes them to figure out I’m only doing what I have to because my 2030 ambition is just fu-k EDJ.
Now through end of 2027 plan:
- Start "warming up" network
- Wait to see if this "BIGGEST LP OFFERING EVER" is worth any consideration
- If LP offer/terms underwhelming (likely), start using all sick leave accrued over 15 years (doesn't pay out if unused and leave firm) and start applying at targeted external roles.
- If at any time, any of these occur - actively look to or leave firm:
- Another similar voluntary separation package offered
- DC/KJ/HM announced as next MP
- More benefits or flexibility taken away
- Job market improves
Hopefully they continue shifting away from DEI seeing as DEI has almost ki-led the company.
@OP thankfully my leader is cool and keeps me sane. She is the reason I’m trying at all and still worth more to the firm than my salary. I feel good about that.
Meanwhile, I’m probably waiting PP out. 2024 feels like yesterday so 2028 will be here in a minute. Stacking checks (thanks for the bonus y’all!) but emotionally ready to leave anytime. It’s actually kinda nice for me lately because this place is beyond my power to fix and I’m enjoying it.
My only question is whether to do LP or not. Used to be $ in the bank but our ELT are so d-mb it might be better to just buy S&P. This place was a gem but no longer.
This place copies every bad move the other big corps do, but refuses to follow anything good that some big corps do. Amazing, isn't it? A company that gets off on making its workers miserable, yet they still think this pays off for them in the long run. Somebody square that circle for me, please!
going public would be the best thing for jones, would get rid of a lot of dead weight gps if you have to respond to the market or drown
@OP , after a lot of thinking about my health and where I see the firm heading, I left. I found a better position and more pay then EJ for same job I had.
This choice was good for me and I have no regrets with any decision I make in my life.
I really enjoyed my time with the firm; I've made a lot of great friends along the way and being a tenured associate that left helped me land a better position.
