Hearing that AT&T has big layoffs coming up......10% ....Stankey - you need to grow revenues rather than always cutting costs

@b7 "You know how process-bound it is. You know how much legacy there is. Do you really expect them to grow the stock without cutting headcount?"

Cutting HC is certainly the easy and most immediate way. I have a counterpoint, however, in direct reference to your "process" and "legacy" comments. I am concerned with the massive knowledge drain happening through geo/rto based HC reduction. Until all that process is converted and legacy equipment is out of the network, you have to keep staff around to support it.

Layoff targets are a lot higher than 10%. A year ago the target was 30,000 people in order to get in line with Verizon. Except.... Verizon has laid off even more. They dropped 7500 just in Q4 and they are still reducing. Expect no less than 30,000 still over the next two and a half years. That's roughly 23%.

Stank’s skill set as a CEO is as useful as a screen door on a submarine!! Look at his history with the company! No growth…only destruction…

Stankey does not know how to grow revenue. Legg said in a town hall that there are not many opportunities to grow revenue. Stankey only knows one side of the income statement.

@a2 , it’s most bloated at the tip top of this heap. That’s where the cuts are most direly needed.

Stank couldn’t grow revenue even if he stepped in it. Honestly, I don’t think he views it as an area of focus. Reducing his workforce and spending millions on a new HQ building in Plano, those are his priorities.

If true, no surprise. Have to believe that some of the smaller groups will be consolidated. AP and SS’s will no longer be independent, stand alone organizations especially with a lot of that work disappearing due to technology. The way they are talking about collapsing offices some of those larger DEG huts might become the new CO’s.
