Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Severance packages

What has been the recent severance packages for those getting laid off? I’m curious about the severance base pay (for below job grade 12’s) and additional pay from number of service years.

I’d welcome a package at this point.

There were rules set up that prevented outside contractors from working in house, I believe related to a lawsuit between contractors and Microsoft. An added benefit to the rule was that it protected 3M proprietary information. I guess things change if it saves a few bucks.

@wh I'm in IT. They're bringing in managed services (contractors).

It'll take a few weeks to teach them how to do our jobs. So I would estimate early Q4 is when layoffs will start.

@vn it has been very quiet lately. I think end of June sounds about right.

@dt 2 weeks for every year of service is what I've heard here in the US.

@OP I know of some region. 1 month for every years of service, subject to capped at 24 months. Probably bounded by the country government guidelines. This data is for the last layoff exercise in Dec2025.
