Along with pretty much all of the company's institutional knowledge - both gone with all the key employees who either left or (most often) were forced out.

Dead would be better then the toxic mess it is.
@bj It is interesting that all the real meeting tools we have are for online meetings and nothing really to enhance in person meetings.
@OP I am so duckng done with this company and its culture. If he-l is on Earth, its address is at AT&T. Even if they go back to hybrid like my conditions when I got hired decades ago, I still would fcking leave. I hate everything here and how its affecting my health.
@b3 , BINGO! The Dark Triaders are avaricious to their (rotten) core. It’s ALL about maxing THEIR enrichment & empowerment.
@b2 you still didn’t answer the question. Why does it matter where you are physically if all your work gets done properly and on time?
@b2 however there is no collaboration because there are no in person meetings. Everything is done with a laptop. I am on a call with someone sitting right next to me because there’s someone on another floor, or in another office. Unless you switch everything to in person meetings and have the entire company in the same office this will NEVER happen. Total fallacy.
People keep asking, “Why is it so important for us to be in the same space?” The answer is real estate. They’re getting tax breaks and incentives from the govt and the hub cities. It has nothing to do with employees or collaborating. It’s about writing dry the rag of every dollar and cent they possibly can without touching the top level.
“Just tell me one thing, why does it matter where you are physically if all your work gets done properly and on time?”
The end goal is getting teams centralized where all members work in just 1-3 physical locations to allow for max collaboration. This isn’t personal. It’s the right strategy for the company.
@ad Just tell me one thing, why does it matter where you are physically if all your work gets done properly and on time?
Because all the way up the "leadership" chain, not a one can performance-manage a hybrid or remote employee? Oof.
Just please don’t complain about how miserable you are on a survey. Their response has only been creating mental health resources. Y’all keep it up and they’ll make mental health a required PLE course. Or worse, in person seminars! I ain’t spilling my personal issues in public!
“Honestly, the frustrating part is how easy this would be to fix. Just go back to hybrid. That’s it.”
I would have agreed with this two years ago. After reviewing so many of the comments on this board, I now understand the need for 5x8.
Honestly, the frustrating part is how easy this would be to fix. Just go back to hybrid. That’s it.
Morale would improve overnight. A lot of the frustration, resentment, and constant complaining would disappear almost immediately.
Instead, leadership is completely fixated on badge swipes, presence reports, and proving people are sitting in a building 5 days a week.
Most of us have already proven we can do the job from home, from the office, or a mix of both. We did it for years.
People don’t want to be treated like children. They want flexibility and to be judged on their work, not where they opened their laptop that day.
Then leadership wonders why engagement is low and why people are checking out.
The answer has been staring them in the face for years.
But you chose to stay>
That was the plan. They planned it ALL along. You are a fool if you use or recommend their services.
That’s why this ranks as one of the worst places to work in the world, and almost dead last for culture. Stinkys policy has destroyed everything. It’s never been worse to be here.
