Why bring in an external hire to replace a C suite executive? Is there no one internal qualified? What’s the rationale?

@25t lol she is 66 years old. Nobody said she’s going to P66.
She is not coming to Chevron. Eimear Bonner is the next CEO.
Not going to Phillips 66. She’s coming to Chevron. The Ox lady.
She is already 66 folks. Use some common sense. And Google.
She's not coming to CVX. Too old.
@ws+1kst4kk8n - I really have a hard time seeing VH as CEO as Chevron. She is still on the board at Oxy and will probably be for years to come. I will say if she ever became CEO of Chevron the employees would love her. The investors maybe not so much, but employees will view her as a savior for them. She really is that good of a people person.
After gardening leafs of three months, the Oxy lady will be announced as new Chevron CEO. I herd this from a TOTALLY 100% relaiuble source. Bye bye MW.
VH is retiring as Oxy CEO tomorrow 6/1/2026, but she will still be on the Oxy board, so unless someone else is coming to Chevron I really doubt it will be her in any capacity.
@OP Ummm, simply stated, OXY is a short term target acquisition, all or parts. She will be gone in 2 years or less.
And no, no one is qualified internally and consultants are clueless.
@dv maybe she can sit on the board but she’s not CEO at Chevron. Lady’s almost 70.
I work with the Board and can confirm that the reason that lady left Oxy is because she is coming to CVX.
I heard the board was talking to that lady at Oxy as recently as January.
For someone like LC they needed to find someone weak and mentally challenged enough to sell out their subordinates to India. They found their man!
