Direct managers were not involved in the layoffs. Decisions came from higher up with no explanation for why certain people were chosen to be let go. My Sr Director notified me. I had someone on my team reporting to me also let go. Not one word mentioned to me at any point that was happening to them. BS how they handle this.

Mine was text for call before my shift started then oh you're fired we will send you info on severance or whatnot but nothing received electronically yet so depends
@OP getting one from your skip implies your direct line was let go usually.
