Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Mobile Badging

Only asking people who know the answer - if I add this app to my I-phone can the company now track my location at all times? Can it now see If I am spending any time during the day talking on my cell phone?

@e8 Another Chicago person who pays no attention to anything outside Chicago. Check Viva engage or the Intranet. Charlotte, Frisco, NYC are all rolling out.

@e2 Ah thanks. Is this for badging inside the building or for the parking garage in charlotte. I’m in Chicago and didn’t see anything about badging into the building. Sorry for all the questions

@c4 formerly known as the TIAA Tophat app. It’s named MyWorkplace now. You can sign up up for the mobile badge and then add it to your Apple wallet

@OP No. The mobile badge is stored in your wallet and gives them no more access than Ticketmaster has.

You aren’t important enough for the company to go out of their way to check your location

Assume the app will be of no benefit to you - it only helps the company I.e. yeah they’ll be able to track.

If TIAA (or any company) want me to download an app, they can provide the phone. Otherwise, I won’t be downloading anything company related to my personal phone.

Buy a second phone, a cheap one, get the cheapest service possible like a mint mobile just for the app.
