I felt down for about five minutes. Then I started looking forward to my first good weekend in God knows how long, and then to having this forsaken place in the rearview mirror. I know I'll have a hard time finding another job, but I'm going to enjoy this newfound freedom before I start worrying about that.

Got laid off in the last round, moved on to what’s shaping up to be the best role of my 25 year career.
The market is tough, but there are still great companies and opportunities out there. I wish you good fortune in finding that for yourself.

Working in Silicon Valley always brings layoffs no matter what! I've been in the game for 25 years and 5 elite companies. They all laid off no matter how good times were. I always got ahead of it when it "smelled" (insider info. contacts) that our dept. was going to be hit.
---->>>>>The one thing ANYONE in the Valley must do first is SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!!! Having 1-2 years worth of savings will get you through from one job to the next in a bad economy. Having no savings is when the unnecessary stress happens. Having "Plan B" savings and hopefully a working spouse will get you right in the brain.
We ALL go through this at some point! It's like being an animal in the jungle CONSTANTLY escaping predators. We need to stay POSITIVE, ears up always. You WILL find something eventually. Enjoy your time off to get right in the brain & body (activity/exercise & travels really helps remove cobwebs in the brain)

Same. 4 months pay with a weeks pay for every year past 10.
