Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

What exactly did ODW do?

I'm genuinely curious because my org doesn't really use "tools" that were affected by ODW. At most, it was a cr-ppy replacement to workday at best but, other than that it's business as usual.

I'm so confused as to what it actually did I guess?

Other than putting all these tools into an oracle cloud based platform, wtf changed for you?

ODW has created a fantastic and costly opportunity for business CSS's to make a major $$ comeback, restore what was lost in terms of legacy attribution that is still required for business operation and contracts.
Bob from marketing with zero security understanding is using AI to write some of it and publish it on a public azure site that JC wanted shut down.

some sarcasm there (but also partly true, just Bob isn't his real name.. it's Robert) 😂

@e8 who do you think designed it? It is the same global interface for 10,000 companies that use it

Great, the backend exists, but the frontend is a total eyesore. Give me the name of the PM who signed off on this, it's time they move on to a different role.

@ae LMAO what kinda dorks at Dell actually take the trainings? They only check for completion and if you're not just pencil whipping that sh-t you're a MASSIVE time-wasting rube.

@OP They absolutely did not get rid of 3,000 apps. They just told management that while grandfathering more things in under the same ids.

@a9 Dell is not special. Plenty of other companies have been able to pay oracle to do this for them. The retail company i used to work for did this back in 2005.

Did the Project Managers just get wasted and rip off Ford and GM's homework? Seriously, what’s the price tag on this disaster? We’re just throwing money away at this point.

@a9 Hate to break it to you. Other companies have done it.

Absolutely the same. I'm non-sales but for me, it just replaced Workday

You obviously didn't take the mandatory training.....

Thousands of separate applications into one. If you are looking at Workday as an example, that is one single platform, we removed over 3000. Hate all you want but it is something no other company has been able to do.
