@hv how did it make sense? I was one of those that got laid off in 2022 with an A scorecard.
We need a congress and president who tax/tariff foreign / visa labor at 3x the salary paid.
Back to protectionism/nationalism.
Practically nothing. We ended up getting a reiteration of a lot of what they discussed during the first town hall. Several questions were raised regarding how the lay-offs were going to impact the TSC and were dismissed.

I'll say that a lot of infrastructural services that impact groups outside of the TSC are being moved off of site. If they wanted to close the building today it would not be a clean cut. This will eventually not be the case.
They're looking to complete this modernization by the end of Q4 and I believe a lot of our IT teams (particularly infrastructure) will probably not be around for much longer after that.
what's going on with tomorrow's town hall?
This is a result of their asinine "north star" plan. All stores in the midwest are to be franchised by 2030. They're actively focusing their attention on their "GSC" (Global Support Center) in india, because staffing is quote "1/4th the cost." Customer service, asset protection and whoever else is next. They're piloting a GSC facilities helpdesk aswell. We're seeing terms like "rightsizing" thrown around in meetings, and with the data-center modernization initiative and the retiring of the enon ohio infrastructure their probably getting cut some time in q4.

I was laid off yesterday. Along with 5+ people that I worked closely with and respected. It seemed arbitrary and illogical. In 2022, the cuts were large but each one made sense. This is very different.
@bq any word of a total headcount of those let go? I heard around 900 but who knows as people talk.

Field operations being hit the hardest as they combine corporate and franchise organizations, half might be an over statement, but clearing out duplicates.
Leaders were told last week into Monday this week that their roles were being eliminated, lower level employees Tuesday thru tomorrow Friday
@bk the pay is not that good.... and the benefits su-k. No 401k match at all, no sick days, insurance is horrible. Armpit of the convenience store biz!
They pay well but are HORRIBLE to work for. This is a awful trend with this Japanese owned company.

Yes, they started last friday and will conclude today. I think operations felt the most impact.
