Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Coffee Badgers have got to go...

Every time I see stories about “coffee badging,” it’s hard not to feel frustrated. Some people are effectively gaming the system and collecting paychecks, while others are putting in real effort and trying to make a meaningful contribution.

FIRE THEM ALL!

@qq Counterpoint to your counterpoint: calling something “counterpoint” doesn’t magically make it one. You just took the original argument, added a snitch in HR, turned the volume up, and reposted it with confidence. If anything, your post just strengthens the argument @qd made.

If this is the type of logic TIAA associates employ, no wonder we’re worried about coffee badging .

Counterpoint. Is it worse for someone to coffee badge and work from home 8 hours with high productivity or someone to sit at a desk for 8 hours and twiddle their thumbs(or complain to HR about the coffee badger instead of doing actual meaningful work). Who is the real waste of money paid to an associate.

Who cares? If someone is getting their work done, what is it to you if they "coffee badge" or sit at their desk for 2-6 hours a day? Is it because you're too scared to attempt to do the same? Jealous?

Life is unfair. FULL STOP. Either accept the fact that some people game the system and hope they get caught, or embrace the game and hope you don't get caught. Greater the risk, greater the reward...

Insane the way people think now. Stop being obsessed with other people. If you're making a real contribution, it should be easier for you to maintain your spot. Most executives are not productive at all. They received reports and create their own narrative.

@OP plus studies show most people are only productive 4 hours a day. so, factor in all their coming and going, productivity is only 3 hours and they are costing the firm lots of lost productivity. with AI & robots it would not surprise me in a few years many financial service firms will cut back staff even more.
