Does this have to do with the strike that could occur Aug 1?
Verizon wants to offer an EIPP . Union is fighting it saying they want to protect the customers and Network and keep surpluses to a minimum.
@OP Hopefully hiring more linemen. With the power companies subbing a lot of their work to the vultures,H&M. A lot of doublewoods in NJ from Elco upgrades. Hopefully Union didn’t agree to line work being subbed out. No mention of that at all in extension.
@a3 thats some bullsh-t if so. they'll have VZB techs who make like ten dollars an hour less than SETs work in Core COs on Core equip. Union should push back HARD on this ( but if they are protecting pension they won't give a rats a-s) . VZB techs get sc--wed. negotiatign this stuff AFTER contract ratifiucation is in my opinion bnotitiatin inbad faith and really- breach of the duty of fair representation, but hey they do that all the time with VZB folks
I’ve heard they’re going to offer the ability to transfer within the extended Verizon footprint. Mostly for technicians.
I believe it has to do with job functions/ work rules. Working outside of title?
