Andy Walz says Americans should drive less

Article from MSN, interview with CBS:

"People should try to drive less. They should try to conserve energy," Walz told CBS News when asked how Americans could try saving money at the pump. "We should be doing that all the time. Energy's essential for people's lives, but we should conserve it."
"It's a global market for crude," Walz said. "We have crude here, that's closer to us, that we're all processing and using. That's helping Americans buffer their price. ... If this goes on for an extended period of time, it's probably gonna get tougher."

So… more wfh, right Andy?

Now that Chevron is in bed with Israel, we'll be doing our part to ensure more war and chaos in the Middle East. Hooray for the Leviathan gas field!

The bootlicking, commute-loving, HR trolls have arrived to downvote everyone who disagrees with punching a clock like a wageslave.

I’ve used Chevron with Techron since the 80’s. I always buy from my Company, the Company that provided my family and I with the resources to live a good life. I bought 3 Trucks since 1981 and they all lasted like forever using Chevron gasoline only. My final truck is a 2020 Ram Laramie with all the bells and whistles. Since I bought it now I have 18,000 miles in six years. I like being retired and I still buy only Chevron with Techron.

@bt, Indeed. Of course, no doubt you mean basically not do much work at all, which is the essence of the so-called "WFH" ruse. I'm all in on that. At least until they figure it out and proceed to cut half the staff, who literally add no value and WFH is the ideal format to hide that.

A thousand R&As to the person who asks if this means a return to WFH during next IT Town Hall

Interesting. While I agree with conserving energy I do not see that happening as we are required to come into the office 4 days a week to sit in loud and crowded work spaces to meet attendance quotas to avoid getting written up for not meeting attendance standards.

Oil companies making billions on the backs of hapless consumers - just buy less of our product, you cretins!

Nah I prefer to drive my guzzler alone to and 'fro while downing a dozen podcasts stuck in traffic. I mean it's a bad look if we don't liberally use our primary product. Don't see the BAT ceo saying he hates smoking do you?

There are European countries telling people who can to work from home. The US is always a few months behind. California and Washington will be the 1st states to tell people to work from home if they can and then slowly there will be wfh mandates across the US to conserve oil. This is all just assuming the war continues with no opening to the strait.

Andy makes sense to me. I am old enough to remember the late seventies (I was a teenager) where there were lines at the pump, gas was in short supply and it was being rationed. Conserving use was important if you didn’t want to find yourself on the side of the road with no fuel. Why is this concept so hard to understand? Use less, pay less. I am sure I will hear some anti boomer sentiments but really we should try to learn from the past….it’s not that hard, folks!!!!

@OP really he’s not living in the real world. A lot of people are on fixed incomes and that hurts their pocketbook. He’s lucky he has a job.
