Ford management is planning big layoff in Ottawa soon,
Most of ce xxxx work and new platform work are moving to lang island. All remote and disgruntled employee be prepared for another big layoff. Don’t feel disheartened if you are in the list. It’s all about money and cutting cost. Lot of boomers may get impacted soon.

@qm I dont need sh-t in a car aside from a speedometer and a screen for car play. Power windows, locks and ac, of course.... Aside from that give me comfy seats, a quiet/smoothish ride and enough space for me to put an american size pallet of bog roll in once a month and I'm happy.
Customer doesn't need naggy software based features they didn't ask for. They need affordable vehicles and don't care if it's an EV or ICE. They simply cannot afford what's being offered.
@nx Tell me you don't know anything about what they actually do out there without telling me. If you think that's all that's happens out there, then you must be in one of those useless mechanical teams

I concur that DF has a correct vision for what the company needs at this most critical time.
All this while they continue to get dumped by Greenfield Labs. Happening again right under their noses. Management at Ford cannot be taken seriously. As milestones approach, be ready for layoffs as always. New boss, same as the old boss.

I too believe blackberry duped the Ford and all the useless blackberry team are present in ford right now. It is good to see some clean up and get them removed asap for better future of ford. Blackberry garbage has to go away.
@kn no longer about cost. It’s all about df vision what he wants and where he wants. Df did not like otttawa development as most of them from failed blackberry and fnv4, also development team for gas cars has no significant experience for software platform which customer needs right now. So bay and Long Island is the better choice as per df. Bb is useless
Doubtful. Long Island is significantly higher cost employees than Canada.
@cd We have multiple teams in Ottawa. Lots of in-vehicle software development happens out there. We also have teams in waterloo. You do know that we employ people who aren't close to a MFG plant, right?
