Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Don't just sign up for the irif, do your research

Don't just sign up for the volunteer irif, speak to a laywer first. There are plenty of lawyers that offer free advice, even online.

If you sign up for something like this, you could miss out on benefits you would normally receive if you were irif'd involuntarily, including unemployment.

Xerox, or any business, is never looking out for you. Assume this smells just like anything else they do.

I was offered a VRIF in 2019 that I did not accept. Months later, I was IRIFed. That may or may not be how it works today. I was rehired in 2023 and now await the next action.

We all had to sign that we wouldn't sue Xerox a couple years ago. Not sure how far anyone would get with an attorney when we all agreed to a non-court mediator. ALL that said, severance su-ks and could go down

@OP If you're thinking of leaving anyway and have some time in the company, severance is likely worth more than unemployment. If volunteering gets better severance now, than less or none later, that makes it the thing to do.
