So in the Morrisville, NC office it seems just about all of the layoffs were older employees 60+. I think there were enough older employees it might be worth a conversation with an attorney. Nothing definite, just get a professional’s point of view.

Boeing does it much better and they aren't shy about it one bit. Once you turn 50 years old, you have a bullseye on your back. If you survive the decade and are still around Boeing when you turn 60, you get an additional bullseye, but this one goes on your front. So, you end up having to watch your back and what's come from the front.
Oracle shot me at 67.
Oracle did this to me at age 61 years ago. They took the opportunity to throw in some nonperformers to cover themselves from age discrimination. It’s a horrible company. If you are able to quickly recover , as I did, you will be in a MUCH better place.
Oracle has already done their due diligence to CYA themselves from any potential litigation as a result of the layoffs. They pushed the limits while staying within the law.
@a8 Are you a five year old? Is skin color the only thing you care about?
@ba if they were fired for age then there clearly are laws that were broken but how would you prove it? You would need clear evidence that age was the motive for the dismissals. Their salaries were probably higher than average and the company is cutting costs. Oracle would argue that their age was coincidental.
@ad people don’t fight it. Most just sign the package. Not me.
We will experience the gap between those living within their means and those outside very soon....
The Orange Man has gone golfing for Easter weekend !!
Here's the realities older workers (Baby Boomers) now face
Getting a new job at 52+
Covering gap health insurance 'til 65
Being debt free
When to take SS
Must have min 1.5M in back pocket: 750 401K/ 750 Cash
@ad I think that all older people in a single location stands out as proof.
American Law allows it. There is nothing illegal.
@af and throwing money away doesn't fix anything either. It all comes down to proof. You either have it or you don't.
@ad Well one thing is for sure and that is saying nothing will bring about nothing.
Typically, 2 things go hand in hand age and higher wages. I am over 60 so I can tell you from personal experience that age discrimination exists but try and prove it. IMO, they would just be donating money to the attorney.
what race were they, i am guessing mostly white too
