Safe to admit pto for religious holiday

New to company and given where the world sits in a crazy climate, is it safe to say what holiday you are taking off for? Passover, rosh hashana? Is there antisemitism?

@1d2 claim it as a mental health day. Then it’s sick.

My Leader recently told us that if we are out of sick time, we cannot use our vacation time to supplement. It must be taken as unpaid time off. :-/

Shalom brother! We have a huge menorah during Hanukkah so you’re kosher!

@OP your employer, EDJ or otherwise, has no need to know WHY you are taking time off that is granted to you. I never provide a reason, and have never been asked what I'm using any of my PTO for.

Do you have to give a reason? I just tell my leader I wont be in office on certain days.

Personally I have always tried to play things close to the chest (e.g. the fact that I am somewhere in the lgbtq acronym has never been disclosed, he-l i didnt even want to disclose why I was taking non paternity related leave).

There are good people on my team that I consider true friends but the fewer people know the things that make me vulnerable the better tbh
