Frustration Is Valid—But So Is Accountability

I know this won’t be a popular take, but it needs to be said.

Some of the posts on here lately have crossed a line—from frustration into outright toxicity. Disagreeing with leadership decisions is fair. Questioning strategy is fair. But joking about something as serious as an alleged death threat against an individual—referenced in a post last week that was ultimately taken down? That’s not “venting.” That’s disgraceful.

We’re all adults. Or at least we’re supposed to be.

It’s easy to sit behind anonymity and assume the worst about leadership—lazy, out of touch, uncaring. The reality is, things are far more complex than that. Running a company in today’s environment is not simple, and the decisions being made aren’t happening in a vacuum. There are pressures from every direction—market conditions, shareholders, competition, and yes, employees too.

You don’t have to agree with every decision. But defaulting to insults, misinformation, and constant negativity doesn’t help anyone—not the company, not your colleagues, and definitely not yourself.

And let’s be honest about something else—there are also plenty of posts openly admitting to doing the bare minimum, coasting, and just waiting around for a severance package. That mindset might feel justified to some, but it’s not something to be proud of. It undermines your own growth and reinforces the very culture people claim to dislike.

If you’re truly unhappy, there is a straightforward solution: leave. Find something better suited to you. No one is forcing you to stay. Staying somewhere you clearly resent while contributing nothing but negativity is a choice.

At the same time, there are real opportunities being handed to people that often go ignored. Access to free training, development tools, and resources that would cost thousands elsewhere. Flexible work options that allow many to work from home the majority of the time, with in-person collaboration when it actually adds value. These are not insignificant benefits—they’re investments. Ones you can either take advantage of or waste.

The corporate world is tough right now. For everyone. But professionalism still matters. Perspective still matters. And personal accountability definitely matters.

Say what you want—but say it with some level of respect, accuracy, and self-awareness.

Or don’t. But understand what that says about you.

@OP show me one top level manager that has given up their bonus or pay increase as a step to acknowledge their contribution to where this company is and I'll show them some respect. Anyone on the board shown solidarity with the workers by refusing to snaffle from the trough? Understand what that says about them.

New leaders come for a 2 years and always leave DXC in a worse state.
Who is accountable for that?

As for DXC training? - Theres no added value for the employee or DXC.
It only serves as a tick box exercise for those that want to say "look there is training".

@OP nice words but you clearly don’t work at DXC, or haven’t for very long or are just one of those management lackies patrolling this site. We are not lazy or unprofessional, we’ve had years of neglect after working our n*ts off and with many of us too old to get another job, we just want to expose this company for what it is. Laphen, Laurie, Salvino etc and now Rahoool are all the same. Greed sums them all up and none of them ever thought about their employees. So if ‘venting our frustration’ can deter any bright, enthusiastic young person starting out from joining this toxic and corrupt company, job done. In the meantime we’re seeing out our last few years on our terms. With 0% pay rise for years we are just returning the compliment.

DXC let dodgy business units fester through inaction, exec churn, shorttermism and deliberate neglect. The cancer has spread through the whole body. and this chap still finds time to complain about its smell.

Policy drives behaviour. There has been no reward for effort for years. The reality is also there is little consequence of underperforming. Lack of pay equality has broken this business. Those who wanted a career left already. We've all been left to coast. And it turns out to be quite a comfortable transition to early retirement. There is no direction, there seems little hope. It's unlikely to change with the guarantee that pay is frozen until April 2027.

I am an investor who relies on unconventional sources to gather intel about the sectors I invest in and I felt compelled to respond to this post.

Your honesty and openness are refreshing and genuinely appreciated.

It’s difficult to imagine working for an organization where toxicity is so pervasive that it has evolved into a corporate culture in which threats and hate are 'allegedly' verbalized.

Do you realize how much effort it must take your employees just to survive in this environment? No wonder people vent about your company on a daily basis. In a corporate culture that appears to value image over employees passive negativity over transparency and vanity over real worth the level of toxicity you described comes as no surprise.

It really makes one wonder whether the customers who continue doing business with your company are aware of what’s happening behind the scenes. Honestly with a corporate culture as toxic as you described it’s surprising they haven’t left already.

Your message provides valuable context for this company’s stock price and market valuation.
