Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

so despite all receiving a welcome message from our top people person stating there will be a review it seems the UK has been cancelled.
You have not and will not hear this from your UK leader, youll be told there has been a review and it was not affordable, usual rubbish.
your bottom level manager who was not included in the review despite how hard they may work, how low they may be paid or even if they received a top rating in their PDR will have this extra stress added to them and will have to break this news to you.
I am nearing retirement after spending my many years having done the most i can do to look after people in this supposedly people first company and this is the worst i have known it to be and i feel i have been left with no choice for the sake of the wonderful people i work with some of which have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet.
I have my monthly meet with my customer next week and I will be sharing this news and I invite you all to join me in sharing this with yours too.

they need to know before they sign any further projects.
it may just make them think twice about who they give their money to and with any luck move some of their business in house or to somewhere that actually cares about people

@27t As expected. This is why I gave up some months back. I'm having my pay rise by not contributing, and playing the game. But seems everyone else is too so it's all going unnoticed.

@1hs Confirmed, nobody in the UK getting anything. Why state you are having a review for certain levels, only to have the review and conclude that there's no money for anyone. Carrot dangling by the financially inept.

Can I just ask for some better clarity on this point - is the OP saying that any and all pay rises even the ones communicated regarding Analysts/Senior Analysts (which is more than likely just to keep ahead of minimum wage etc) is being reconsidered/cancelled by DXC or are you referring to something else? That was already sent out a few weeks ago.

I do find the fact that the contracts with clients include a cost of living increase year on year beyond belief - if DXC is simply pocketing that money is it not a bit more than just a slightly questionable decision?

In case you were under any illusion that DXC is taking the ** have you seen the news today about UK Pay growth?

According to the latest official figures, pay has grown at its slowest rate in more than five years.

Annual earnings - excluding bonuses - grew at an annual rate of 3.8% in the November to January period, down from the previous figure of 4.2%.

Where as in DXC it's 0% down from the previous figure of 0%

@f9 You can't just do AI or any other IT skill because you watched 2hr video on the topic. But if AIs so good it can save the day and suggest how you motivate a workforce to contribute with a £0 budget.

Salaries are now so far off it's impossible to fix. DXCs answer - we wont then. There is no reward for staying. New colleagues come in on a premium. But nobody will help them as they get paid more. The place has ground to a halt. There's no insensitive to do anything other than take the money and do as little as possible. The policy drives this behaviour. The management are treated the same so also don't really care if things get done or not. We're all still entitled to a redundancy when it fails which is what most remaining staff are now waiting on.

Didn't Captain Mainwaring spell this out several weeks ago? Did you not believe him?

The funny thing is is that I experienced one of his platoon come on a non UK call and tell everyone just how high value and high profit UK secure was. Very big money, the most bigly money in dxc.

So it's the usual story, there's plenty of money, just not for employees.

Meanwhile. The rate card is increased around 5% year on year. And on top of that, staff are put forward as higher skilled. Once a level 5, now charged out at level 6 for another 20% hike in revenue. It's all just business, but we've stopped playing. 0% rise. 0% effort!!

Talk to any UK manager off the record and they all say the same thing, they have zero influence on anything it's all done centrally by all powerful HR.

The only people who are engaged in DXC are HR, the technical staff and their managers have given up and checked out.
