Of those laid off last week, did you receive a severance package? Are you eligible for rehire?

@OP I’ve been laid off twice in the last five years and interviewed recently thrice. Fun company.
@qn Let them sue me. Not worth their time... Who cares?
And what I heard from a removed manager, if you bad mouth the company on the socials, they will take your severance back or some other type of punishment. It's total bullsh-t. For a measley 50k before taxes, they castrate you. Take away your livelihood and freedom of speech. Henry would be proud.
Back when I was a kid, in the 1970s and 80s, I remember the parents that were salaried workers at Ford would get laid off and brought back every so often.
I don’t know what changed.

A true layoff, as in the plants, should be called back before hiring new people. Salaried employees who are terminated with or without cause aren’t eligible for rehire and you’ll have to sign something to that effect to get severance. I’ve seen a few people rehired but someone far up the chain of command has to sign off on it.
"Are you eligible for rehire?" Someone wondering about this and / or wishing for it tells you we aren't dealing with "A" talent here or someone that has much self determination.
"Oh please take me back...".
Never
You are NOT eligible for rehiring if you are laid off if the terms are the same as layoff before.
