Thread regarding Omnissa layoffs

Employee Ownership

Are our "shares" worth anything? Is there any kind of exit strategy for KKR? I know they aren't pleased with the company's financial performance but will they eventually cut their losses or is there a possibility that we get sold soon? Any rumours on potential suitors? I need something to look forward to this sh!t is bleak lately.

@OP probably won’t be Omnissa but some companies do see a happy ending with KKR: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWhrfBYFQ1n/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

@14n you’re absolutely right. I’ve spoken with peers at BMC and they said it was a joke 1.5 years ago when it was proposed to us, and they still think it’s a joke. They haven’t seen a penny and don’t expect to ever collect. It’s a BS program that nobody believes in.

KKR has owned BMC Software for more than 7 years. Their employees would find our dialog here somewhat amusing. KKR said they were all owners after the acquisition. Nobody believed it then, and those that remain after 7 years of decline still don't believe it. Learn from their reality.

@fh wrong. It’s not a value. It’s a conversion rate that you can apply to hypotheticals that we have zero insight into, and based cut tree not climate does not have a favorable outcome. You’re clearly a manager or HR trying to justify a sh!t model that nobody ever believed in.

That's not what it says in Carta.

@b9 Carta said 1.80 a while back but now says 1.00 again.

What would they be worth if KKR decides to do you dirty like they did to Toys ' R ' Us? - 0

@jh It's meant to be a light at the end of the tunnel, getting people to stay at the company despite low promotion or professional opportunities. I wouldn't factor it into one's decision about whether to stay or go and agree it probably will not turn into $.

@d5 and that value is based on hypothetical modeling. In no way do we have any idea as to the event that would convert these to any value. The employee ownership program is a complete sham

@dr wrong. They have the current value.

The value is not known. If you go to the carta portal, any values there are for hypothetical modeling only

@b9 that’s an ignorant comment. The shares are a completely arbitrary number and not way to place a value on it.The answer is there’s a very good probability they won’t be worth anything considering the lack of exit strategy and most probably outcome of burying the company for a tax write off

Every employee received shares. Every employees knows (or can look up) how they are valued.

@bc Right. I'm ignorant because I curiously wanted to know how you came to your conclusion.

Grow a pair and leave if you're unsettled here.

If you were a real omnissa employee and not here to spread FUD, you would know how to find that information.

They aren't pleased? Any insightful information you can share that solidifies that statement or is it written out of general frustration?

I don’t expect them to worth anything to most employees. It might be weighted to ELT.
