Yes I was laid off too today. Not sure about broader layoffs.
Yes indeed there were layoffs yesterday. Source: Myself, I was laid off yesterday. The word on the street is about 10% (600) let go in VCF.
@OP I don't think you actually need information from anyone on this. Be WARNed also I don't actually have any anecdotal information on any layoffs.
For US:
60 days is standard to avoid having to do WARN notice, then add the figure for typical severance (I think it was 2 weeks plus 1 week / year of continuous service, but I think that is written down somewhere, and you would likely be better served finding that specific information somewhere in HR docs, especially since it sounds like from the title that you were not layed off so you probably still have access to all the internal HR information). The company isn't out to specifically sc--w any employees, and following a standard playbook for all people laid off would probably be good legal practice, based on jurisdictional parameters.
I don't know about other countries -- this is also where it may vary, and getting information from some random person on an anonymous forum (like me) may not tell you what you need to know for your specific case anyway. Some countries may just put you in the basement and take your stapler.
