@1gf I worked for a GIS core for 7 years before xerox officially "took over" and literally every single aspect of the job was better, better pay, better benefits, better culture, and better service/sales relationships.

service techs even went on sales calls with sales people because THEY were going to be the face they saw when the needed help over the next 5 years and if you landed the deal you got 15% of the commission as a service tech.

I went on four in one day in my "home territory" and my clients loved me and the service i provided and we went 3 for four in one day and the only one we didnt get was a zero base new client

@OP
I'm not on the print side side and was part of the XBS structure until we were split last year.

I say that because, I've never seen INSANE salaries. Even on the print side the salaries in XBS was never the draw. Also, the pay was always skewed for new / incremental sales over renewals.

I know the legacy Xerox Reps all had double the salaries we had, but we had the ability to have uncapped earnings - abd if you exceeded really well designed plans you got paid without the hassles that everyone deals with currently.

Finally, I'm not sure how sales treats service on the Enterprise Xerox side, but the teams in XBS are service focused and (at least at my core), realized that good service after the sale was the key to retaining clients. It was a focus not an afterthought, and that team earned us at shot at continuing opportunities. They were appreciated and valued as integral to sales, not the liability that the outsourcing has wrought.

I KNOW people who can't sell are going to get upset at this but ESSENTIALLY they said "free ride is over" you can just renew the same accounts over and over. B.A.U. isn't enough to keep everything afloat.

So telling SALES people you have to MAKE SALES and they act like its the end of the world is crazy! Especially considering the INSANE base salaries.

This is exactly how a corp reduces headcount without paying anything out.
