If your child has cancer, do you tell your wife “stop checking on the kid, whatever happens, happens”. Seems far fetched? Well, this paycheck is what keeping my family afloat.
I listen to OP... They have a point, nothing good comes from just sitting around anxiously, speaking from experience.

@a5 couldn’t agree more. OP clearly has loads of vested RSU already. Plus, the rest of us is not making things up, managers had submitted list of names last week for layoff.
"whatever happens happens" is such a stupid, emotionally lacking comment. Maybe you're secure financially, but there are thousands of people whose families are depending on their Oracle income to feed their family. Thousands of families who will be unsure how they'll pay rent/mortgage/groceries next month.
