Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Does anyone still have any motivation left?

I sure don't. It's just a paycheck, with no hope that raises would even keep up with inflation. Between offshoring, AI hype, zero growth paths, and the constant threat of being cut for no reason other than bottom line, why even try? Working hard, doing overtime, delivering quality - it's all just investing in future regret.

Don’t forget the completely unrealistic goals to set us up for failure and be rated a 2.

Been here 4+ years, and would give my notice, but why when I deserve the severance. I do my job, and that is all. No above and beyond. I am barely present. But my job is done. I match energies so they get what they give.

I have struggled to maintain my motivation here over the past 6 years- I’ve been around here for a VERY long time. I remember when i loved going to work- where I could see my hard work and diligence was making a difference. And I was financially rewarded as well out of respect for the work that i put in. I know I know, it’s all about the members- but I digress, it’s REALLY not anymore. It’s about how far can we push front level employees without reward until they snap- it’s who can we cut to save money- i just don’t know anymore. I’m not in tech; but, we sure have sent 1/4 to 1/2 of our business offshore. It’s all about the money!! Quality people either jumping overboard and out or being literally pushed over the side to save money. Yep, ‘m becoming jaded.

Coming up on 6 years. This is my first year without any increase or bonus. Got a 15% raise my 2nd year, but inflation has me back down to my new hire salary.
I got really lucky with my first team. Then they started letting go of my boss and colleagues, and i moved around to 2 other teams and I have zero motivation now

Been here for almost 4 years. 3rd year in a row with no raises after scoring 3 or 4 for the past 3 years. My teammates are all id--ts but at least my boss is a decent guy. So no motivation at all since work has become uninteresting and paid does not keep up with inflation. Haven't work in a place like this in my 20 years career and I am now putting my hope into being pick for layoff or even PIP to get a final decent paid check for early retirement.

I hate my boss and my job. Work is intolerable but I can’t find anything else. So I am just here waiting for being laid off!!!

The only -- and I mean the ONLY -- reason I continue to work hard is because I love my boss and don't want to let her down. I'm very fortunate to have a good boss and it's the only thing that makes work even remotely tolerable. If not for her I would have quiet quit long ago. If she ends up leaving or being let go I'll be out the door.

I have more motivation to post here than I do my job.

I also have zero motivation left. Been at Optum for a couple of years now and morale and career growth have completely gone away since I started. The lack of culture (or whatever you want to call it) combined with the abysmal raises and RRP this past year-in-review cycle have been the nail in the coffin for me.

I feel you. I’ve been here for more than 10 years and morale is the worst I’ve seen it. And the no path for growth is so unsettling.
