Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Visionary

Evanko is the visionary Cigna needs. I can’t wait to see where he leads us!

@es

If you honestly believe that performance management is effective here at Cigna, you are even more of a simpleton than I thought possible. Congratulations, I suppose.

Believe me, I'd have left your org as soon as I got a glimpse of your boot polish caked teeth.

But we both know that you aren't leadership material, no matter how much of a su-kup you are, so your little power fantasies will remain just that.

The bs in here must be from Kari. She has no backbone. A puppet. She replaced the last puppet David had in HR. The one who stuttered when asked about RTO. No mind of her own. That's why she is in the job.

Some sycophants in this company just love su-king up and getting further by who they know versus what they know, so it doesn't matter if the company or CEO doesn't have direction or substance. These employees act in a performative way to "impress" and be noticed without providing anything of substance themselves. You can recognize many of these employees when they sneak in lots of religious or bootlicking rhetoric into meetings and everyday speech, as well as their social media and LinkedIn posts. I wouldn't be surprised if @ES and @CR are one of those people showing their true colors under internet anonymity, but they'll be the fake-friendly coworkers cheering for everyone to RTO, being way too chipper on Monday mornings even after their team gets bad news on bonuses, and sarcastically asks if disgruntled coworkers have "a case of the Mondays" like a scene out of Office Space. The people who see through this or have real ideas and seriousness about topics that actually matter get passed over for bonuses and promotions and put on the top of the pile for RIFs. Brian clearly wants more of those ditzy cheerleaders and everyone else to remove themselves from his sight.

@cr The problem is the “mission” is total b.s. It’s just empty words. There are zero investments behind making it remotely real. So what he really means is, “su-k it up and do what we say and don’t question all the stupid decisions and poor leadership.”

@dw performance management works fine. Just has to be executed. Coaching, verbal, written, probation, termination.

Documentation is key. Will have no issues getting alignment from ER as long as you do it right.

Your a-s would be out in my org.

@cr

Fortunately, Cigna's performance management is just as incompetent as their other management functions so I plan on being non-aligned and still racking up those paychecks for the foreseeable future. Super sad if you don't like it.

Maybe I'll ramp up on my whiny entitled little bitchery, just to spite you, sweetie 😘

@OP He's a self-impressed horse's a-s - and proved it in the all employee meeting.

@cv Katya's org is full of nepo babies and H1B networks that pay each other for jobs there. It's a mess and I wonder why it's not scrutinized more.

@cr Those are not the words of diplomacy. At a bare minimum being intentional to foster a sense of "We're in this together", "Let's make this next year the best one yet" ..... but what was delivered was horrific.

I've been a people leader as well and have told MY teams we are going to work together, and I've supported my people.

If you're a people leader now I feel sorry for your team. I definitely wouldn't follow you.

Hey Katya, your big idea was building coffee cafes for Capital One.
I'll have a mocha vanilla cream to go.
Stop posting your BS on the site and get the coffee brewing.
At least that's productive.

Are you related to Evanko in some way? LOL

That was the most uncompassionate, stupid thing to give as a directive - borderline verbal harassment.

I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but if it was a slip of the tongue - he needs to send out a communication APOLOGIZING and doing some damage control.

If it was intentional, will they be sending out a loyalty test of some kind instead of the pfishing emails?

Maybe he was going to spark attrition...idk

@b3 Yikes. Anyone who says that is a dictator, not a leader. Maybe he’s been reading this forum and is concerned. If you are reading this BE, you s*ck as a leader for saying that.

@a5 yes, it’s true. He said something like, “If you can’t get on board with our mission, then find a different company.”

A visionary is someone who would elevate the spirit of the team he leads. He is Mr. Downer.

Did BE really say “if you don’t like it here first some place else to work”? I couldn’t join the town hall but a couple coworkers told me he basically said that (!!!).
