Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

At what point do we start saying no

Leadership is clearly not up to the task to turn this company around. Stock got a bump but regressed, NA volumes aren't working even with PPA investment and acquisitions, and we're getting the shaft with low team score and merit raises. At what point do we collectively say we aren't going to work to execute shoddy decisions that cost us money?

@ce The lack of decision making is EXHAUSTING. It's like everyone gets to complain and insert their uneducated opinion before a compromised decision gets made by "group think." It's awful.

Some distributors starting to cut their rebate, ads, digital, other programs. They're cutting their own people and FL and Bev will have to cut without the support

Would like to add that the culture at this new company is also much more laid back - PepsiCo at least in my role was becoming very check the boxes and above and beyond projects / hail Marie’s that were eating into the day to day operations. PepsiCo is trying to maintain/ gain market share in a environment that’s is transforming so the work environment is very challenging and competitive- this is great opportunity for those hungry to move up and make a big impact but at my point in life I was looking for a more laid back environment.

I do want to add that my experience at PEP really gave me a slew of skillsets that is hard to come by in the market place.

I was getting sub 2% raises and below target bonuses for 2-3 years ; I went ahead and had chatGPT spruce up my LinkedIn and uploaded a more clearer headshot.

Recruiters started reaching out - moved to a smaller Fortune 500 company 40%+ pay increase about 2 levels higher than my role at PepsiCo and overall better financial performance from this other company.

The PepsiCo carries a lot of respect and popularity in the job market so leverage that.

I’ve heard of people saying there’s better options outside of Pepsi but didn’t believe until I actually experienced it myself.

It’s the same leadership and they can’t make a decision without a consulting firm telling them what to do. Those firms continue to take in millions from PEP as we get next to no raises.

Just quiet quit and do the bare minimum, Leadership doesn't care, they aren't trying, they are just milking it for as long they can and lining their pockets. PEP is a mediocre company so mediocre is perfectly acceptable.

Eh. I don't actively say "no". I just work unenthusiastically and deliver mediocre results.

Perhaps if the employee experience improves someday, I'll reignite my spark and start caring about my job again. Not holding my breath...
