Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

TGS

tgs seems to have too many ineffective people. they hire and promote friends and family, then outsource most of the work. when things are not delivered, they blame the outsourcing partner insted of taking responsiblity. some vps show very low maturity. we need to remove those vps and the cio... and focus on skill based hiring.

@h9 This company is basically run by gangs and cartels. If you’re part of the inner circle, you can get anything you want, no qualifications needed. But if you’re not one of them, it doesn’t matter how much you contribute—you’ll get nothing.

Glad I am finally out of this shi**tty place. Send link to this site to any one planning to join BD in future.

@OP look at interns and edge associates, almost all of those roles are filled by kids of these incompetent leaders. So, even they successfully transformed their next generation into shameless id--ts who can’t even get an internship without nepotism. In 3-5 years, this shameless kids will just be like their parents. Why don’t we have an HR policy to prevent that?

@dp vendors take the advantage of “leaders” being useless. They command huge billing for people who shouldn’t not even have a job. Sorry to be blunt, most Indian managers have some kind of kickback system working with vendors like capgemini or Tata consultancy or PwC.

Typical day for a TGS associate at any level consists mostly of one or more of the following….

  • reading and writing emails
  • passively sitting on conf calls sometimes wondering why they were invited
  • participating or leading calls which often have no clear output or conclusions
  • for those on projects, participating in status meetings to review the status of how they are tracking status
  • the remaining 10% of the day usually involves chatting on Teams or tinkering in powerpoint or excel.

This is by far the weakest IT org I’ve seen which is why vendors will not waste their top people on a BD account.

@d3 that is the definition of ineffectiveness. Almost all hires and promotions are based on nepotism, skill doesn’t matter at all in TGS. Current leaders do not believe in skill.

TGS doesn't have ineffective people - they have ineffective and wasteful processes - the people that they hire are hired believing those processes are their job - they cannot think end to end, have little to no practical experience In transactional processing systems or system design - they think all they need to know is how to log a ticket. The problem is and always will be management
