Contact recruiters directly as best as you can. Sending cold applications through the website has pretty low response rates.
Hire a career coach. They can be pricy, but you'll be out of Optum, get paid closer to what you're worth, and likely worth for a company that more aligns with your own values.
@e5 thank you 🥹
You all are amazing! Thanks for the great tips. Time to grow!
Just go, it’s easy to stay put but every year you spend at Optum is a wasted year! There are still companies that value experience and will make you feel valued. Optum views you as replaceable and that by a less expensive offshore replacement! They have invested too much time and capital in simplifying and then automating as many processes as they can. When it can be handled offshore there it goes, most of you are building tools for your replacements! Just leave!
Any suggestions on companies that are hiring? I've applied and interviewed for roles that have been cancelled due to lack of funding.
@OP You're worth more than you know. Keep positive. Be specific in your job search. Make contacts. Stay engaged.
@bf Exactly and congratulations!
Start looking since you know the ship is sinking. Networking is key, refresh your LinkedIn and register on Staffing agency platforms so you are in their database. I was laid off and did all of this, and now have 3 companies moving me into next steps. You have to be proactive, stay positive and BELIEVE there is life after Optum.
I landed a new job after 3 weeks. It pays better, remote work, and a terrific environment. The job market is very good right now. You just have to stay engaged and keep positive. I feel so much better now.
Your best bet is contacts. Do you know anyone that you have worked with that has moved on?
