I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer here, but AI is no where near artificial intelligence but more of a language mirror able to apply some logic. But Centene seems overly gung ho to implement it everywhere. My team has been getting Chatgpt responses to emails for over a month and now copilot??? We're just going to ignore the environmental factors??? I'm sure our members will find it so easy to stay health when there's no f***ing water to drink. Well, those members that can still afford their healthcare that is

Nah boo boo bear it’s Microsoft. All companies embracing it. I get how AI can help. I just hate how it all sounds the same. Ever put something in AI and say “reword this?” And you think hmm that sounds professional and think it’s unique? No. It’s not. Put something of YOU in there. AI cannot replace the human element
Don't worry.. AI will not make much difference at Centene. IT at Centene is run by dinosaurs who have no clue about AI.
@ag you’re comparing an industry that actually feeds people to a greedy Fortune 500 company that just likes to appear to help people. Apples to oranges.
@OP Experts disagree with you. We are on the cusp of a paradigm shift that will be very disruptive
It doesn’t matter. The point we’re at right now, AI = stock goes up. You will be moved aside if that is decided to be the most profitable decision. I’m not saying it’s right but I am saying that’s how it is.
@OP Many everyday industries consume enormous amounts of water and energy. The global meat production industry for example, is one of the largest users of freshwater resources. Yet most who cite sustainability concerns around AI have not fundamentally changed their dietary habits. The point is not to diminish environmental concerns but encourage consistency. If you're going to evaluate tech through a sustainability lens, you should apply the same rigor across different areas of your life.
