Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Living in a state of fear

Verizon has conditioned me for panic. An unexpected invite from my manager? My stomach drops. A sudden team call? I assume it's bad news. The constant low-level te---r is the new normal.

You get a severance, you have a solid company you trained at and the job market is only rough if you start the day you’re laid off. Prep now. Resume needs to be polished. Pay off debt and vehicles. SAVE MONEY.

IF that day comes you get a severance which will buy you a few months of breathing room and medical coverage. With a resume already done and your Linked In up to date now you start moving

@OP sad to hear. This is mot kind of leadership that every orfinary Americans deserve. Capitalism America has gotten worse - the rich becomes richer and the poorer becomes poorer. Long live America no more.

Likewise, very stressful and hostile environment. Especially after last year Layoff’s things have changed drastictly. This is not a place to be at. The excitement and motivation to do our job is gone. I am looking around as I need a stedy paycheck. Cant live in the fear forever!!!

@OP I’m right there with you. Feels like my last day can come any day now after 15 years. It’s become a stressful and toxic environment and any motivation/passion to do the work is gone, especially after that dark all hands meeting last Thursday. I’ve been using EAP and just taking with my Dr to ease the stress and I suggest you do the same. Hang in there, your not the only one feeling this way.
