Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Sampath out with the Golden Parachute as Dan S guts prior regime

So.. Verizon's head of its consumer division, Sowmyanarayan Sampath, is stepping down?? Or was he asked to leave??
When ole Danny Schulman stepped into his role in October he helped approved a $4 million payment for Sampath to retain him in his consumer CEO role. While he ordered Verizon's biggest-ever round of job cuts in November of 13000+

So… who’s the next head to roll? Which former PayPal person is coming along the Danny ride??

Monica Hammond is a self aggrandizing narcissist. Zero effective leadership skills and expects everyone around her to kiss her a*s. I have no idea how she is still around.

Sampath was the worse executive I have seen in recent memory. The guy was completely clueless. What's worse is the people around him, notably, Monica Hammond (uber clueless), kept praising him knowing he was clueless which makes them complicit in the reckoning that consumed VZ. It was basically the clueless leading the clueless. Sampath singlehandedly ruining the VZ brand and made its customer service synonymous with dealing with a root canal or the cable company. All in all, its a great day for VZ when Sampath is no longer there. Now the question is, how do other companies avoid getting wrecked by him and people like Monica Hammond.

@OP Good riddance to Sampath . He should have seen the Retail trends for consumer and acted accordingly. Offered no visibility , and raised prices with shallow value proposition customers didn’t believe in . Steered us aground
