@g4

exxon -

a dying employee relationship strategy for
a dying industry

it will be funny when the entire campus is 30 somethings because anyone older is fired to save benefits and nobody younger ever bothered to apply

EM is a strange place with huge disrespect for their employees. They reward people for doing nothing and they punish hard working loyal employees. Leaders are autistic hypocrites.

Been that way since 2016 when it started the downhill slide then layoffs and PIPs a few years later with active sc--wing down if operating costs. We're finally getting the payoff now years later. Exxon was bloated and very generous up til then. They're just operating with middling salaries and job satisfaction. Highly appropriate for this old industry.

I love all the exxon defenders. These must be posts by the supervisors and hipos. They will try to keep the truth from the proles. The do not want the mediocre to rise up and quit. Exxon needs control and they wield it with fear. Fear of ranking, fear or piping, fear of not performing, fear of not looking busy enough. I once knew an employee that would say exxon truths but now has changed. It is like he was lombotimized. He saw what exxon did to me and did not want it to happen to him. To all the hipos, favs, and protected of exxon it does not su-k for you at exxon. But for all the rest it totally su-ks a ss. That is the truth.

@OP and all responders: nice attitude. I’m sure it will take you far in life. The only thing holding you back at this point is Exxon.

@OP maybe you’re the issue? ExxonMobil is a good place to work, you get rewarded for hard work

Slackers like you get what you deserve

Our department manager told our group that he targeted 40% of our work to go to India.
Now our group is like Hunger Games with every person scheming against every other person, and no helping each other unless can wave a flag and get browny points.

EM is on a steep decline and actually is starting to trust the work products of id--ts paid 1/8 of a normal salary. The root cause of the increase in trust of such poor work is not an improvement in the work, it is simply because so many experts that found the errors have been PIPd.

This trend in trusting 1/8 the salary ( and 1/8 the capability) engineers will lead to an Exxon Valdez level event.

Wait till you are targeted for removal. They will try everything to get you to quit. I was recently terminated for not kissing a-s or as they called it performance issues. I was lucky because I invested well and saved. I am now relaxing enjoying life, hobbies and living no stress. Exxon su-ked for every year I worked at that he-l hole. I watched as less experienced or technically superior employees were advanced above me. It was a game that I did not play well. I am glad it is over and I don't have to work in a toxic dysfunctional, unfair workplace. Exxon is a place that truly s ucks.
