Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Time for a little dose of encouragement :)

I've over doubled my net worth in the past year while working at Xerox.

I'm not here to boast. I'm simply here to say that, despite job instability, you can set goals, improve your life, and grow your finances.

My salary is modest.

Attitude + Aptitude largely sets our Altitude. Toss in Focus and Perseverance and you have the formula for surviving a layoff and prospering well beyond it.

If I can do it on my salary, anyone can. What Steve does or doesn't do doesn't affect me anymore - and, frankly, I couldn't care less. I took from him his power to hurt me.

Anyway, I pray that everyone here has an awesome year. Let's nail our 2026 goals while Xerox sinks.

Oh please… give us all a break and leave this sinking ship, instead of gloating about how successful you think you are.

99.5 % of the people here are trying to survive and see where they are going to wind up.

Yet you tell us about how much
Money you made? No one cares but you.
Not the place for these platitudes.

Doubled your net worth? Did you go from making zero dollars to an entry level job making 32k with being told you will become something at the company? Here’s what you will become, a number and you in the scheme of things mean nothing to them.

Just ram your fist down your pie-hole and tickle your tonsils already! The network is the computer! The controller be having that Lotus Notes look and feel thanks to Java. ⁶🤷‍♂️⁷

Don’t forget to pay duhveloper fees to Sun Microsystems before you all go bankrupt.

There was no statement of what the starting point was here... :) Going from a intern to full time employee would be a good example of being close to 2x salary :).

I know I already replied below but I just reread this thing again. Are you out of your mind? Why are you reaching goals in a company you know is dying? What are you working so hard for?
Well if we just keep serving beverages on these little carts we push up and down the seating aisles, maybe the plane won't crash! I know it's about to hit the ground but let's work hard and keep serving drinks because the pilot can't hurt me now!

Are you mentally unstable?

Doubled your “Net Worth” working at (for?) Xerox last year... Personal bankruptcy declared December 31, 2024?

Well, I made double ending salary in the market last year (and I was E band) and high 5 figures in January, but, this cannot continue. Interest rates are going to decline now so if you want predictable income and peace of mind for a while, move the cash now.
