My direct supervisor told me theres a strong possibility that we could be working operations jobs February 1st. I dont want to be locked in the plant away from my family. I wasnt here in 2015. Any thoughts on how realistic this will be?

Seems like local issues/bargaining are going fine, it's the national oil bargaining that's sus. 2015 was a mess, but it feels like the union has less leverage now than then. Marathon really playing hardball though. You never know
@aw definitely legal and normal in industry. You will get paid with a fat bonus at the end, after 2015 you should have seen how many new trucks showed up.
Yes. There is a 75% chance of a strike at Shell and Pemex. Union is getting rolled by companies and employees will need a work stoppage to stop the madness. Companies want to roll back decades of gains. F&@k these company me!!
I work at DPK too. OP is talking about the USW/Shell contract negotiations going on right now. I hear they are going well and there shouldn’t be any show stoppers. Pemex are having negotiations right now too and they are probably the ones we have to worry about. If they go on strike, there is no way USW will allow Shell chemicals to work. Tricky situation.
@a3 at Deer Park
@aa I want sure if this is legal. This isnt what I signed up for on my offer letter. And if they are going to require me to work 2 jobs I want more money.
context????
You must be at Norco. This has happened before. HR was running the lab while contractors were on strike!
@OP bend over and grab your ankles. Resign now while you can
