Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Frontier Leadership

I dont know if ya'll followed but basically the whole Frontier top leadership team decided to leave. They weren't pushed out, they chose to leave. We needed that talent and I don't know how we let that happen. Another Verizon leadership failure. Perhaps our leadership felt threatened?

@fa Lowell was clearly overrated. His decisions made little sense at the time and look even worse in hindsight: Choosing an outsider as CEO when he had qualified internal candidates that knew the business inside and out. Acquiring AOL and Yahoo when they were way past their prime.

John S is very good. But make no mistake Nick Jeffery was THE force behind Frontier's recovery. I know, I was close to the Board and leadership team. I saw it Q after Q.

Stratton was next in line for the CEO spot when LM departed and doubt he would ever step foot inside the door again. I believe that LM did not want Stratton to become the next CEO and show him up, so he helped select one of the few people that were never getting another CEO position. There is absolutely no way that someone can explain how HV became CEO of Verizon with a straight face. Makes no sense whatsoever.

@bz you forgot to include the RSUs shown in the second table. John Stratton received about $6 millions from salary and $94 millions from sale of stock (including RSUs).

Nick Jeffery received about $8 millions from salary and $83 millions from sale of stock (including RSUs).

They’re shrewd business people who negotiated themselves a fantastic exit package and I can see why they’d be eager to close this acquisition and move on.

@bk
$38.49 per share on the way out
Stratton had 2 million shares * $38.49 = just under $77 million
Why bother with Verizon and the Meatball "advisor"?

@OP This must have been negotiated beforehand and they were handsomely rewarded for it. You can read form 8-K and the insider stock sales using the links below. I think you seriously overestimate the importance of the C-suite in running the company day to day.

If the Frontier leadership team actually had any business sense, they would have been pushed out by the dimwits in charge now. Make no mistake.
