Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Watch your back here

Consider everyone a competitor, not a coworker. I trusted someone and they used it against me to look better. Its every person for themselves.

Name some names. This is why T. Rowe Nice is so popular. On the outside we seem nice but behind closed doors it’s all about who you can step on to look good and take no accountability. Integrity is dead and this is why TRP is failing.

Don’t trust any senior managers and above in II Sales. They will use it against you

Good to know. I had several opportunities to work for T-Rowe over the decades and always turned it down due to just something in the company. Yeah that sort of thing was also very common in Discovery Communications when Zaslav took over.

It's just not worth playing those kinds of games because the prizes su-k.

@18f our local IT staff barely graduated high school. Man’s got a massive chip on his shoulder about education and it feels like he treats people differently based on this. I don’t think he really knows how to do his job outside basic troubleshooting and following process docs. Queue puzzled looks and nonsensical excuses when asking him about a non standard IT issue.

@gg Show me an IT manager at trowe who isn’t a lackey or has spent their entire career here. So yeah TRP It management is a sad joke from the top down. 95 percent don’t even have computer science degrees. Who would pay that kind of money and benefits to completely unqualified people? TRP ha ha look at how many IT managers have been made redundant in the last 6months. Yet they have been here 30 years contributing very little and taking quite a lot..

One of the local heads is a nincompoop who I reckon knifed his two lieutenants to save his own job. All three of them were arguably dog sh-t at their jobs. Clock is ticking for the big dog though.

Extremely toxic. Especially in the IT arena right now. You have people that think they are gods gift but never stop to wonder why they weren’t ever in management for the 20+ years prior….news flash…you su-k and cant do anything without someone who knows the technology. What will you do when no one is left? Who will you blame then for your own shortcomings?

@OP Sorry this happened to you. Have to say though that this is a dynamic that is basically everywhere. Careful who you trust and definitely live and learn when people show their true colors. People sure can su-k sometimes.

We need to stick together. If mindset change to “either he/she or me” then company has won!

Words to live by, especially now. In my case, I think my whole team will be chopped, so no point in selling my soul to try and look good here. I do my best and focus on applying for jobs.
