Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Why is T-Mobile not releasing layoff numbers?

T-Mobile has refused to release the exact number or even a ballpark number of positions eliminated. One has to wonder why? What is the leadership hiding?

Srini Gopalan and Deeanne King must be cowards if they dont have the guts to share the layoff numbers. Usually people do things quietly and with lack of transparency when they are not doing the right thing.

@b0 this has been the playbook since 2022 for TMUS. Under the radar.

This is not just about the numbers, it is an example of lack of transparency and poor leadership overall.

You know how Verizon did it? The CEO sent a memo to all employees sharing the number of positions being eliminated and the rationale behind it. How did T-Mobile follow? Hush-hush layoffs with no communication of what is going on and why.

How is knowing the number early going to help anyone? Yes they should be more transparent with that info but they aren't. Of all the things to be stressed out about with this that is the bottom of the list.

They'll post it when legally required. No sooner. That's the Big Pink legal SOP.

@a8 You are funny or ignorant.. layoffs are commercially sensitive information when thousands of people are impacted and they take that information back to their families and communities?

Management is required to inform investors about such actions in a timely fashion. That is how publicly traded companies work. T-Mobile is not a family-run business, even though some of our leaders behave like they own this business. Why do you think other companies issue press releases and file with regulators when they do layoffs? You think they are stupid to release 'commercially sensitive information' about layoffs?

They also aren’t complete. This is only Freier. Katz will be in February most likely.

Because it’s commercially sensitive information and you don’t need to know the numbers beyond your personal situation.

Not hiding anything. They're saving it for the Q4 earnings and capital investors day.

To he-l with WARN.
Just issue a communication and be transparent about the extent of layoffs. Do it now. That is what companies with seasoned leadership do. Oh well, T-Mobile does not fall in that seasoned-leadership category.

WARN will post on Feb 2nd if April 2nd is everyone's last day.

@a2 Why should anyone wait till April 2 to get the layoff numbers? Why can't the company release the numbers now? Employees, investors and all stakeholders need to know now. Most companies do not say 'go look up WARN after 3 months' when they do layoffs. Rookie CEO Srini does not understand this.
