Don't expect them to treat us any better than any other corporation. Old Cargill is pretty much dead. If anything, that's what we learned last year. I expect what's coming to be no better. If another opportunity presents itself, don't hesitate. Even if you're a veteran.

A few months after I started working at Cargill, they laid off a worker that had been there for 25 years. She was marched out of the building while I was in a meeting. That’s the day I should’ve left because they laid me off five years later. During the time I was there, I noticed more and more layoffs of the US and Minnesota staff and more and more outsourcing for cheaper labor. They scrounge for a dollar like the worst companies and drop you in a sec. No loyalty. Use them as a short term stepping stone is my advice.
@OP spot on!
The process continues… it is amazing the amount of “retirements” of relatively young folks that is happening. Ageism at is best.
RIP old Cargill; you were an amazing organization and workplace; you will be sorely missed.
