Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Time to learn new skills before it’s too late

Why is nobody picking up new skills? It feels obvious the auto industry is shrinking fast with automation and outsourcing. People are going to get left behind if they don’t start preparing. Learning something new and looking elsewhere could be the smartest move for the future.

@nf Ah, a fresh one! You came to the wrong site!

you people are bleak, I can’t help but to think you’re the ones that make this place nasty for some of us… it’s a big company, many pastures, it’s not all brick wall. I think this site attracts an odd personality, me included.

No jobs , they are scared to think about doing something different. Some can't handle learning new skills anymore and there are many of them at Ford.

There's a difference in having a pair, and being an idi0t. Part of not being the latter is knowing when you are yelling at a brick wall so to speak. Go ahead, hope the reward on the other side is worth it.

@jj I’d hate to see what your life decisions look like, grow a pair, it’s called fortitude.

@j7

Not about being pushed out. Look at it as if it is worth your life energy to push back against an environment that is this way. Let the beast eat itself alive. Don't mix up your pride with playing a game that ultimately doesnt matter.

@hz You don't let people like that push you out.

Really sounds like you're in a toxic situation you need to get out of. Make a plan to leave, and do whatever you have to. Why would you stay for the torture? You either deal with it or leave. Work at a hardware store if you have to. If its hurting you you that much, you'll make it a priority. If not, you wont.

@fs this is a pretty good summation of how I feel, I have zero faith in this place or even people anymore, probably why I like dogs and cats more than people.

Are you delusional? You might want to ask yourself a question - What makes me think this company cares about me in the least? I don't know about you, but I've been through he-l the last few years, and just about the last thing on my mind is being emotionally invested to this place or anyone in it.

@bd after record job creation, stability, and strong employment numbers, 2 million Americans lost their jobs in 2025 in no small part due to the policies of the current administration. After significant inflation reduction, prices quickly began climbing again in 2025. We will be lucky if a recession is all we get.

@b3 recession announcement? sleepy joe, just stop, no one believes you.

Most likely if we get the recession acknowledgment , Ford will most likely file Chapter 11 after 12 months with others. The difficult part is the survival mode for the next 2 years. I expect UBIs and new economics with a different structure that supports free income distribution and integration of robotics across the board.

Ai focus skills. --> Software engineers may be eliminated with Ai. Need Systems Software Engineers to check on code generation, integration & architecture , and verify the implementation.

What are you basing this off of? Whose not learning new skills? Or are you just posting to post without any substance? Feels like the latter. Trash
